This was the winner for me in 2026. I knew I wanted a red áo dài to honor the Fire Horse year, and this design delivered bold, unapologetic drama. There’s no clear horse motif, which actually worked. The pattern is loud, wallpaper-like, a little funky and over the top, exactly the statement I wanted this year.

The quality is excellent. The red fabric is rich, with gold and pink embroidery and a white tassel detail. The design features koi fish and a second abstract animal that reads a bit odd or tacky, but in a playful, intentional way. It adds to the overall character of the piece.

Sizing is important. I normally wear a Small in American sizing, but I’m top heavy and typically an XL in áo dài. Because this style has a collar, I sized up to XXL for the right proportions and it fit well. The pants come in green, which is fun but unexpected. I do wish there were options to mix sizes or choose pant colors since I’m an XL on the bottom and petite at 4'11", though resizing is available for an extra fee.

Overall, this áo dài beautifully balances traditional elements with modern boldness. If you want something dramatic, colorful, and unapologetically eye-catching, this one delivers.

Bought these for both my boyfriend and I and we love them. Definitely recommend to size up to ensure they fit. The only downside is that the inside feels a bit scratchy from the shiny metallic colored threads - but nothing an undershirt wouldn’t fix. Can’t wait to make more purchases soon!
