So itchy…

I really wanted to love this áo dài, but the embroidery is so itchy!! Although there are two layers, anywhere the embroidery is exposed to your skin is itchy. It’s such a shame because the embroidery is beautiful, but the itchiness is driving me insane. I’m also not a fan of the material because the fabric is a little stiff. The áo dài is definitely not flowy or stretchy at all, so keep in mind that the áo dài will be tight and form fitting. In addition, you must be delicate with the áo dài especially when washing because the embroidery can be undone easily. I was scratching myself and one of the embroidery designs came loose. I would also definitely recommend getting the “modern” version compared to the “traditional” version if you are short and want an áo dài that stops at your feet. The “modern” version is shorter, so for 5’1 height, the length fits like a regular áo dài.
